چکیده

A 53-year-old woman was referred because a CT scan disclosed a subarachnoid hemorrhage. An aneurysm was seen on digital subtraction angiography, which suddenly ruptured (video 1 on the Neurology® Web site at Neurology.org) during the study, suggesting the cause of the hemorrhage (video 2). The rate of contrast emission was 3 mL/s with a total volume of 16 mL; the pressure was 200 psi. External ventricular drainage was performed emergently, and the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit. She recovered uneventfully after the aneurysm clipping.

Outcome of In-Hospital Rebleeding and Early Aneurysm Rupture at the Referral Center

Background and Aim: In-hospital rebleeding and early aneurysm rupture are major causes of mortality and morbidity in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Rebleeding may occur at the referring hospital, during transfer or at the referral neurovascular center prior to surgical or endovascular treatment. However, there has been no report regarding the rate of in-hospital rebleeding and early aneury...

Case report: Intra-procedural aneurysm rupture during endovascular treatment causing immediate, transient angiographic vasospasm.

INTRODUCTION Cerebral vasospasm is a major cause of delayed ischemic cerebral injury, typically occurring 3-14 days after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Ultra-early vasospasm is defined as angiographic vasospasm observed within 48 h of SAH onset. Immediate vasospasm at the time of aneurysmal rupture has been suspected, but has not been previously reported. We describe a case of immediate, trans...

SB3C2016 Abstract Template

INTRODUCTION Quantifying the flow dynamics in cerebral aneurysms is important to understand the mechanisms responsible for aneurysm progression and rupture and develop improved aneurysm risk assessment procedures (diagnosis) as well as for understanding and evaluating endovascular interventions such as flow diversion (treatment). Many studies have used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to mode...

یافته های آنژیوگرافی در آنوریسم داخل جمجمه ای، بیمارستان امام، 79-1374

Background: This investigation was conducted in order to study angiographic findings in patients with cerebral aneurysm. Materials and Methods: The study conducted on 136 cases of ruptured cerebral aneurysms between 1995-2000 confirmed by means of 4-vessel cerebral angiography to get an insight to racial, geographic and environmental factors predisposing to the occurrence of subarachnoid hemorr...

Middle Cerebral Artery Bifurcation Aneurysms Treated by Extrasaccular Flow Diverters: Midterm Angiographic Evolution and Clinical Outcome.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Flow diverters have been increasingly used lately in off-label, distal intracranial aneurysm treatments. Our aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of flow diverters in the treatment of middle cerebral artery bifurcation aneurysms and to analyze midterm angiographic patterns of regional flow modifications for safety and clinical outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS Consecutiv...
